- We feel the product name is truly misleading here. While it is refered to as a "BBQ sauce", it is actually more of a satay like paste. But then this "satay paste" is quite different from Southeast Asian's satay too. All we can say is that this is a unique Taiwanese creation that has every Taiwanese hooked and it is a flavor everyone in Taiwan grows up with as well.
- So what is it? It is a thick paste made from anchovies, garlic, sesame seed, peanut, dry shrimp, chili powder, salt and some secret spices. It's got this addictive garlicky deliciousness and an extremely fragrant aroma to it.
- A popular way to enjoy this paste is by mixing it with soy sauce to make a dipping sauce for Taiwanese hot pot. No true Taiwanese could have a hot pot without this paste, REALLY!
- If you don't happen to be Taiwanese or don't enjoy hot pots, we recommend you using this paste to make noodle soups: broil water, drop in noodles, stir in a little paste to taste, add soy sauce, add some veggies, and you got an easy and tasty meal!
- This paste is great for stir fry as well.
- This Bull Head brand is the most popular, best selling, and THE brand to buy, as any Taiwanese will tell you.
- Product of Taiwan
direction of use:
- Make sure you thoroughly stir up the paste & the oil before each use to ensure you're getting a good combination of spices & oil, as the delicious oil in this product unavoidably will always float on top.
- Refrigeration is not necessary after opening, but always use a clean and dry utensil to stir and get the paste out. Otherwise the paste will mold.
