Bulk Packaging

Some products in our store are repackaged by us, which are always noted "bulk packaging" on the product description page and linked to this page.  We would like to assure you that all repackaged products are packaged in high quality food grade containers with great care.


Why do we repackage?

In most cases, these products are either bought directly from their producers/growers/importers for freshness or that they are only available to professional chefs in large quantities, which home cooks often find too large for home consumption.


Why do we pack our Herbs/Spices/Salts in resealable pouches? 

The reasons are:  
  • To save money: The main cost of retail spices is packaging.  By using bags in place of fancy jars, we are able to bring down the cost of quality spices for our customers (you!). 
  • To save shipping: Bags are lighter to ship and takes up less space than jars. 
  • To save the earth: Bags don't break and requires less cushioning materials.
  • Avoid throwing away unwanted jars of different sizes and designs: Spices ready to go into the spice jars you have at home.  

Another note on spices:

We got freshness in mind -- We understand freshness impart great taste to culinary creations.  To ensure freshness, we purchase our spices in small quantities with high frequency directly from importers.  And we would like to help you do the same!
The smallest quantity for our spices is just perfect for your 2oz spice jars at home.  This way you could buy in small quantities and replenish as needed too:  No more tasteless stale spices in your pantry!
